Nam June Paik (July 20, 1932 – January 29, 2006) is considered to be the pioneer of Art Video. He started using video as a media for art back in 1965, when the firsts portable recorder and cameras went on sale to the general public. From what I’ve read about his work I believe it discusses, mainly, the authoritative manner in which television content is thrown at the public.        - I haven’t read much though.
‘Nam June Paik relevance for the future is that he is, in part, an inspiration. I know for many young artists that are now working in this media culture.
